For analytical procedures that allow program statements, the second derivative of the hyperbolic tangent function (tanh) is computed incorrectly by the compiler that calculates derivatives. If second derivatives are required, do not use the hyperbolic tangent function. Instead, use the equivalent exponential form for the hyperbolic tangent as follows:

• tanh = (exp(x)-exp(-x))/(exp(x)+exp(-x));
